FedChem, LLC. is a global leader in the production of aluminum organic-based products for use in the grease, ink and other industries. The quality of our Manalox ink gellants and Kolate grease products has helped establish FedChem, LLC. as a leading provider of aluminum organic-based solutions for the chemical industry. Headquartered in Bethlehem, PA, FedChem, LLC. is a wholly owned subsidiary of FPC International, Inc. For more information, please visit www.fedchem.com
Kolate is a reactive aluminum source for grease, allowing for excellent water resistance and longer service life. Grease manufacturers need a system that is tough enough to help withstand the most extreme operating conditions while remaining versatile enough for almost any application. When used to formulate a final grease product Kolate can impart a wide variety of characteristics…making aluminum complex grease one of the best and most economical choices for meeting rigorous application requirements.
Manalox is an aluminum-based ink gellant designed to give varnish or ink increased control over tack and viscosity. Manalox sets the industry standard for aluminum organic ink gellants…no matter the application. At FedChem, LLC., our sole focus is on research, development and innovative excellence in aluminum organic compounds. Sheet-fed, web offset and heat-set lithographic printers can be sure that inks made from vehicles gelled with Manalox aluminum gellants deliver superior transfer for smooth, crisp dot formation and a sharper image; Reduced misting/ink fly; and excellent control of tack and viscosity.
FedChem, LLC. Water Repellants inhibit water absorption and swelling of wood in a cost-efficient system. Conventional waterproofing systems use a combination of waxes and resins to prevent water penetration, but waxes and resins do not dissolve in water without a surfactant to emulsify them. Over time, however, these surfactants left behind in the wood actually attract moisture to the interior of the wood, causing it to swell, warp and crack.
A new class of surfactants that attract water and preserves AquaProof’s depth of penetration. A new class of proprietary surfactants in AquaProof W/B uses a crosslinking agent that reacts only after the formulation soaks into wood and the water evaporates. Crosslinking the surfactant destroys its ability to attract water and preserves AquaProof’s depth of penetration better than solvent-based systems. While AquaProof is a two-component system in concentrated form, formulators can easily convert it to a shelf-stable, one-component product for trade sales.
